Novelist, Taiye Selasi featured in Porter Magazine

Judging from my header, my glaring love for all things fashion, literature, arts en général can’t be missed. Better still, it can be piqued and Taiye Selasi doubling as a style crush and author does just that!

I stumbled on her recent feature for Porter Magazine’s THE EDIT and boy do I love that bright orange jumpsuit! (styled by Helen Broadfoot ) The feature bounces off on her work as a novelist, what influences her style of writing; zooming straight to itty bits of her personal life and favorite drink to order – ‘crisp clean’ vodka and tonic combo.  On the matter of love, she says one needs to have their heart broken. Joking that “in the life of a woman who travels, some men are amuse-bouche, palate cleansers, if you like…”

Her style is a mix-match of colors and I particularly like her Alexander Wang shirt, Missoni skirt, and Louboutin ensemble in the last image.

Taiye Selasi is the acclaimed author of Ghana Must Go; a globe-spanning saga of a modern dysfunctional family.  A friend promised me a copy but till then, you’re welcome to share your review: lorawords@gmail.com
